A journey across Italy exploring the locales that have witnessed some of the most significant historical events from antiquity through to the Renaissance and how the territory changed throughout the ages.  The course will look at Roman history through its landmarks and explore how Rome grew from a village into the capital of one of the greatest empires in human history and later became one of the leading religious, cultural, and artistic centres of Renaissance.

This course is for students who have completed level B2, are fluent in Italian and still want to further advance their languages skills working on C1 pedagogical material.

Exercises and projects will be assigned.

This course is for students who are fluent in Italian and have advanced reading and comprehension and want to return to the foundations of the language

A journey across Italy exploring the locales that have witnessed some of the most significant historical events in antiquity and how the territory changed throughout the ages. Students will explore pre-historic settlements, Etruscan cities, and Greek colonies in Italy. The course will then look at Roman history through its landmarks and explore how Rome grew from a village into a city and eventually into one the largest empires in human history

Review exercises will be assigned.
