What better way to immerse yourself into the Italian culture than reading books and short stories by Italian contemporary writers who can make you travel both in space and time? These books will take you on an authentic journey through Italy. The aim of this book club is to create an informal yet stimulating space where people who love Italian language and culture, and that are passionate about reading, can come together and discuss each week’s chapters while practicing the language. Not only are we going to go over what we have read so far or exchange ideas about specific topics or excerpts, but we will also discuss and practice new idioms, which will help you expand your vocabulary. We will also analyze book reviews and look at interviews with the authors.
This Spring we will read, L'airone by Giorgio Bassani. Students need to have the Italian edition of "L'airone" (book, e-book or audiobook) on hand. Copies of the book can be purchased on Amazon.
