This Fall Lidia Rende's Club di lettura will dive into Sandro Veronesi's award-winning 2019 novel Il colibrì, which was awarded the Premio Strega in 2020.
Sandro Veronesi (Florence, 1959) is a two-time winner of the Premio Strega.
Il colibrì,through wamrth, love, angst, philosophy and humour, tells the complex story of Marco Carrera, an ophthalmologist. The story moves bacwards and forwards in time, with each chapter informing the reader in which decade events take place. His narrative has been compared to a mosaic which th reader puts together while experiencing soe of the most moving and insightful depictions of the complexity of human life.
