Istituto italiano di cultura Toronto offers online and in-person language and culture courses for every level, from absolute beginner to advanced.  Registration takes place online for all courses.

Courses run ten weeks, are competitively priced and with small, intimate class sizes.

Our grammar courses follow the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) which is an international standard for describing language ability. It describes language ability on a six-point scale, from A1.1 for Absolute Beginners, up to C2 for those who are highly proficient in the language.

LEVELS


Beginner: A1.1 - A1.2 - A1.3

Elementary: A2.1 - A2.2 - A2.3

Intermediate: B1.1 - B1.2 - B1.3

Upper Intermediate: B2.1 - B2.2 - B2.3

Advanced: C1.1 - C1.2 - C1.3

Upper Advanced: C2.1 - C2.2 - C2.3


Courses are held once a week and are composed of 10 classes of 2.5 hours each for a total of 25 hours of instructions per course.

Each level (A1, A2, etc.) is  comprised of three 10-week courses.

Classes are capped at 9 students (11 students for A1.1) allowing for a high student/teacher ratio and the possibility of personal attention.

Students can enjoy an authentic Italian environment, fostered by the many cultural events organized by the Institute, most of which are free.​

REGULAR TIME SLOTS

Morning: 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

Afternoon: 1:30 - 4 pm

Evening: 6:15 - 8:45 pm

SESSION DATES AND REGISTRATION

Registration takes place online once the course list is published.  Course lists are published approximately 4 weeks prior to the start of each session.

Fall: October - December

Winter: January  - March 

Spring: April  - June 

Summer: July - September 

 

PLACEMENT TESTS

New students wishing to enroll in any course other than A1.1 Absolute Beginners are requested to take a placement test for an assessment of their level.  Students enrolling in A1.1 do not need to take a test.

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

Refunds or credits are granted only for cancelled courses.
