The Istituto Italiano di Cultura – The Cultural Section of the Italian Consulate in Toronto - is a centre for cultural and academic activities, a source of information about contemporary Italy, its regions, and its multilayered cultural heritage as well as a venue for cultural events to facilitate exchanges between Italy and Canada in the fields of theatre, music, art, design, literature, cinema and much more.
In addition to its language courses, the Institute supports initiatives which favor intercultural and multilateral dialogue based on the principles of democracy, reciprocal respect, and international solidarity. The IIC collaborates with all major Canadian cultural organizations and entities in the organization of a variety of cultural events. Italian is a language of culture. Mastering it gives you access to a literary heritage of valuable humanistic and scientific texts. Practicing Italian means you can get the most out of your next trip to Italy and enjoy the authentic Italian experience. For many people, learning Italian also means reconnecting to their roots.
Our instructors are all native speakers and qualified teachers of Italian.
Our dedicated teachers will assist you in the learning process, creating a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere in the classroom.
Small classes: 6 to 12 students.
Courses are offered once or twice a week, during daytime or evening.
Private lessons for individuals are designed especially for those who have limited time to learn or perfect the language. The course can be oriented toward the student's particular field of interest.
Our courses follow the Common European Framework set by the European Council.
Students can enjoy a real Italian environment, fostered by the many cultural events organized by the Institute.
